Spin Classes
Whether you want to lose weight, get fit, tone up, get in an ergo session or improve your cycling skills, our classes will suit you.

Quick Checklist –
Book class online
Bring water, towel and class pass/money
Come 15 minutes early for your first class

How do I book a class?
We highly recommend booking in your session to make sure you get the class and bike of your choice.  Bookings can be made up to a month in advance and up to 15 minutes before the class starts.  Just click on the Online Bookings page and go from there.

Pedals and clothing?
Shoes - Our bikes have Look Keo, Shimano SPD compatible, and toe clips so you can wear your sneakers.  If you want to buy shoes to wear to your spin class the guys in the Velofix shop can help you out during shop hours.

Clothes – We recommend you wear cycling knicks to stop your bum getting sore, but they are not essential.  A singlet or t-shirt or sports top is fine.  Again, we have clothing for sale at the shop.

How much water do I need?
We recommend you come to class well hydrated and then bring two water bottles.  You probably won’t go through that much water, but best to be prepared!  We sell water bottles at the studio that you can fill.

What else should I bring?
Bring a bath sized towel for the class and a second towel if you plan to shower after class (you can hire these from us also).  Remember your class pass too.

How long does the class run for?  When should I arrive?
The studio opens 15 minutes before class but you must arrive on time to complete the instructor’s warm up.  The class runs for 45 minutes.
If it is your first class please come 15 minutes before the class so we can set you up comfortably and discuss your goals and fitness level with you.

The bikes
We use Wattbikes in our studio –  The Wattbike was born out of a desire to provide the sport of cycling with an indoor bike that delivered the authentic feel of cycling.
Wattbike make two indoor cycling bikes – the Trainer and the Pro.  Check out their site for more info - http://wattbike.com/au/

Which Wattbike suits me?
The Trainer is the preferred model for most people.  It allows high cadence sessions.  Perfect for a true “spin class” to get your heart rate up, get sweaty and lose weight and tone up.

The Pro is for those riders who want to get more of a strength session from their class.  You will usually ride lower cadence and at higher watts of power.  You’ll still end up sweaty!

What do we recommend?
If after reading about each bike you’re not sure which one will suit you, we suggest you book a class on the Trainer.  It is a good bike for getting an introduction to Velofix’s spin classes.

Every class will have both bikes as an option and our instructors are skilled at keeping all participants working to their maximum level.  Our instructors will discuss your goals with you, assess your fitness level and ensure that each class is tailored to your ability, regardless of the bike you’re riding for the class.
